Pasteli from Chios “To Patroparadoto”
The production of pasteli from our family has its roots in the 18th century. The family began to deal as an amateur with pasteli (nougat) as it was a tradition in the different fairs to exist a person called “pastelas” and sell this product. Thereby continuing the tradition on from generation to generation, until December 1995.
In 1995 the company was founded by Maria D. Proaki called “TO PATROPARADOTO”, starting with a relatively small range of products. Then she equipped with the necessary machinery and added to the products other items. It was then when she experimented and gave the distinct flavor and aroma of the unique Chios mastic!
In 2005 new blood entered the company. Marias’ children came in and changed the name to MARIA PROAKI & Co. with a registered brand name TRADITIONAL PASTELI OF CHIOS ”TO PATROPARADOTO”.
Then in 2006 moved to new and well-equipped facilities, 500 sq.m.
Since 2013 the company complies with the requirements of ISO 22000: 2005 which ensures the quality of food.
Finally, in November 2015 the company passed into the hands of brothers Clio and Constantine Proaki named PROAKI BRO. Co. with distinctive title TRADITIONAL PASTELI OF CHIOS “TO PATROPARADOTO”.
